A life shaped by the sea,
boat trips shaped by authenticity…
Antonis was born by the sea, in the harbor of Pythagorio on the island of Samos—a place where the rhythm of life has always followed the tides. For generations, his family has been deeply rooted in the maritime traditions of the island, where most people once made their living as fishermen. Among them was his grandfather, a man whose life—and legacy—would shape Antonis’s future.
From the age of five, Antonis was already aboard the family boat, learning not through books, but through salt air, sunlit waters, and the steady guidance of his grandfather. Those early mornings and long days at sea were his true classroom. He learned how to read the winds, respect the sea, and understand the quiet language of nature. In the mid-1970s, at a time when tourism was just beginning to touch Pythagorio, Antonis’s grandfather became a pioneer. Around 1976, during the very first years visitors arrived on the island, he was among the first to offer boat trips—sharing the hidden beauty of Samos with curious travelers. With a special license granted by the port authorities, he guided guests to untouched places like Samiopoula, long before such excursions became common.
During the summers, the family balanced two worlds: fishing and welcoming visitors. Winters were quieter, devoted to the sea’s traditional harvest, while summers brought new faces, stories, and cultures. Antonis grew up in this unique blend of hard work and hospitality, forming a natural connection with people from around the world. His journey was not limited to the sea alone. For a time, Antonis also worked in the family restaurant, learning the art of service and the importance of creating memorable experiences. Every role he took on added to his understanding of what it truly means to host.
At 23, Antonis became a professional fisherman, taking full responsibility for his own boat. Years later, at 31, he began a new chapter with the vessel he still captains today. Now, with over 27 years at its helm, that boat is more than just a vessel—it is a continuation of his family’s story, shaped by decades of dedication, knowledge, and love for the sea.
Today, at 58, Antonis continues this legacy through Antonis Boat Cruises, working side by side with his sons and his wife. It is truly a family experience. On board, his wife prepares fresh, homemade traditional Greek dishes, lovingly cooked and served while guests relax, swim in crystal-clear waters, and enjoy the peaceful beauty of the Aegean Sea. Sharing food, stories, and moments together is at the heart of every journey.
For those looking to celebrate something special, private cruises can be arranged. Whether it’s a birthday, a wedding or proposal, a family gathering, a bachelor or bachelorette party, or any kind of celebration, Antonis and his family are ready to create a unique and unforgettable experience. Above all, Antonis believes that the sea is for everyone. He warmly welcomes guests from all walks of life, with a simple philosophy: love is love, in all the colors of the rainbow. Respect, openness, and inclusivity are values that guide every trip, ensuring that everyone feels safe, seen, and at home on board.
Welcome aboard.
PS: Every now and then, when the moment feels right, Antonis picks up his bouzouki and plays, adding a truly special and unforgettable touch to the journey…
Our family is growing, and we’re happy to welcome Naomi into it.
Naomi is a Belgian dancer and artist whose heart has long belonged to the Aegean Sea. What started as a visit to Antonis’ boat together with her friend Alain soon turned into a meaningful connection, and over time, a friendship that naturally became part of our everyday life.
This year, Naomi joins the team as our booking manager. She is in close contact with Antonis and his family, helping to take care of all booking requests and communication. Since life on the boat is full and hands-on, she makes sure that no message goes unanswered and that everything is handled with care and attention.
At the moment Naomi is working remote, but you can reach Naomi directly by email or WhatsApp. She always does her best to respond as quickly as possible, though during the busy season it may take up to 48 hours. Naomi speaks Dutch, English and French.
Naomi has already become something of a local on Samos. A true thalassophile, she feels most at home by the sea—bringing warmth, creativity, and a personal touch to the way she connects with people. Contact Naomi for info & bookings.
